What do you get when you combine the aesthetic traits of a show winning street rod with the drivability of a modern hot rod? This all-steel 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan! With the universal appeal of some of the best parking lot eye candy in our showroom and the road going prowess of a late model sports car, this slick red Ford is a professionally built custom which provides its owner with the best of both worlds. And what’s even better: you can have your show stopper and drive it too for roughly half the money and a fraction of the time it takes for most people to build one from the ground up. If you’re an anxious buyer who is tired of the ‘garage furniture’ culture that seems to be pervading the street rod segment of the hobby, this real steel ’34 Ford is one of the best road ready hot rods your money can buy!
So many of today’s customs are built with no chance of ever being unleashed on the open road or even seeing a peaceful town street. Instead, they’re paraded around on trailers, idled through parking lots and rolled into garages. Not so with this awesome ’34 Ford! It’s a super slick coupe that was built to win trophies alongside the best show queens and burn up the roads with the quickest street cars. The build started when a clean, all steel body was bolted between a fresh set of fiberglass fenders and running boards. Once that body was completely solid, and those fiberglass components were completely smooth, the entire package was fully disassembled and professionally prepped for paint. Then, in the name of great looks and universal appeal, a top notch coat of bright red urethane was meticulously applied, sealed in a glossy clearcoat shell and buffed to an incredible shine. The result is one fine looking street rod which displays nary a ripple or misaligned panel anywhere, presents a finish that glistens like glass, and possesses just enough authenticity to satisfy both the most skeptical old school hot rod fan and the harshest scoring judge.
The beauty of a really well done street rod is often found in the simplicity of its execution. In a nod to the true roots of hot rodding, high quality builds are usually topped with a stripped down, all business body which emphasizes the cars purpose built, high performance nature. At the front of this slick ’34 Ford, a pristine chrome grille hangs a traditional “Ford” emblem and a stylish “V8” emblem inside a dent-free chrome frame that’s centered between chrome Ford Twolite headlights and a fang-like tubular bumper. Behind that grille, a four piece steel hood flows past a streamlined chrome radiator cap to meet a chopped and smoked tilt windshield which is flanked by a pit-free chrome frame. At the top of the car, a great looking ribbed roof sits over new smoked side and back glass. At the bottom of the car, like-new running board mats ride under great fitting suicide doors which are complete with hidden hinges and shaved door handles. And at the back of the car, small, square LED tail lights illuminate a second tubular stainless bumper, a retractable chrome tag bracket and spotless stainless exhaust tips.
Lift this coupe’s four-piece, stainless trimmed hood and you’ll find a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 which wears a nice combination of clean black paint and bright finished chrome. Built for effortless driving, the stalwart engine is topped by a chrome K&N air cleaner that funnels wind into a chrome Weber carburetor which is complete with a combination of braided and stainless fuel lines. Below that carburetor, a chrome Edelbrock Performer EPS intake rides between a pair of traditional chrome Edelbrock valve covers; and a traditional HEI distributor fires spark through a set of red MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Cooling for that hot spark is provided by a Walker radiator which sends water through fresh flex hoses. Exhaust from that hot spark is handled by a pair of ceramic coated shorty headers which allow the car plenty of room to breathe. And the charge for that hot spark comes courtesy of a pristine chrome alternator that’s secured by billet brackets and spun via chrome pulleys and a fresh V-belt. Aesthetically, the clean and smoothed engine compartment is relatively sparse and exceptionally well-done. It’s finished in the same glossy red as the car’s exterior panels; and the thoroughly detailed motor, with its assortment of bright components, creates a lot of great looking texture and contrast.
Underneath this cool cruiser you’ll find a solid chassis that’s fully sorted, road tested and ready to go! Behind the car’s tough 350 a virtually indestructible Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed automatic transmission provides smooth and confident shifts. Under that transmission a straight and rust-free satin black frame rides on a modern front suspension and traditional rear leaf springs. Tight turns and quick stops are provided by tubular control arms, heavy duty sway bars, manual rack and pinion steering and power four wheel disc brakes. And exhaust is handled by mandrel bent true dual pipes which rumble through great sounding turbo mufflers. Putting the power to the pavement is a mirror-like set of chrome 15 inch American Racing Torq Thrust IIs which wear 195/60 front and 235/70 rear BF Goodrich Radial T/As. Not a detail was missed on the bottom of this road ready Ford coupe; from its solid floors to its high quality brake booster, it looks good and performs even better!
Take a look inside this awesome Ford and you’ll find a spectacular black leather interior that is definitely one of the main highlights of the car. The plush, custom covered bucket and bench seats feature an excellent combination of soft surfaces and firm padding. At the sides of those seats custom leather door panels are equipped with small arm rests, convenient pull straps, billet door handles and buttons for the car’s power windows. And below those seats, like-new black carpet anchors a color-matched emergency brake handle next to billet foot pedals. At the front of the car, a painted dash hangs a full assortment of Auto Meter Pro Comp gauges next to stylish billet knobs for the car’s accessories and a chrome handle for the tilt windshield. At the top of the car, a custom headliner rides above a chrome rearview mirror, a custom overhead console and a modern Sony CD player which kicks sound through Sony front speakers and Pyramid Gold rear speakers. And at the back of the car, a small button for the power rear window sits at the leading edge of custom leather side panels and body-matched window frames. Rounding out this first rate interior is a polished, two spoke steering wheel which spins a color keyed rim around a polished tilt steering column that’s complete with a full set of billet stalks and a built in gear indicator.
This 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan is a nicely finished street rod that was built to be driven AND seen. It uses top-notch components from some of the best names in the business to create a unique car which has tons of personality and awesome curb appeal. If you’re looking for a road ready custom that is guaranteed to draw a crowd wherever you go, your search is over!
