Light Blue is a boring way to describe such a classy color – there’s a very fine metal flake that shimmers like glass in the sun. The body is outstanding and the paint is flat and glossy. Both bumpers were treated to a high dollar re-chroming, as were the taillight bezels. The taillights, side markers and front parking lights are all close to perfect. The grille, correct in R/T textured black but with the standard Challenger badge, is excellent as is the hood molding. The big scooped fiberglass hood is painted with the correct Organisol textured paint and holds the proper N94-only washer squirters. Reveal and drip moldings are highly polished, both splash pans are arrow straight and the stripes, door handles and badges are new and correct. New 15” Rallye wheels with new trim rings and center caps host new F60 front and G60 Polyglas tires and look a lot better than the standard steelies with dog dish caps. The glass is excellent, the ducktail spoiler is the original, and the blackout decal underneath is applied correctly. The kicker is definitely the top, though – it’s a brand new Legendary piece that looks fantastic. Let us assure you that the top looks awesome on the car and not in the least bit tacky – correctly done the top is nearly black but has a far different texture than the regular formal black unit – it’s subtle and very, very cool.

Ducking underneath you’ll find floor pans that are as clean and shiny as the top. New fuel lines, a new fuel tank and sending unit keep new brake lines, hoses and parking brake cables company. New front end components compliment the original HD suspension with the original front and rear sway bars and the quick ratio manual steering box. A new exhaust system runs from the proper original exhaust manifolds to date coded correct T/A mufflers and tips. Proper paint markings dot both front and rear suspensions and the finishes are correct, save for protective coatings on bare metal parts. Not too many people want a show car with rust underneath!

Lift the fiberglass hood and examine the TA/AAR specific mill in its natural environment. While not original to this car, the motor was sourced from another T/A and is as correct as possible. That’s the correct 974 radiator topped with a correct cap and overflow tubing connected via reproduction hoses to the engine, carrying coolant with reproduction heater hoses. Correct clamps are used throughout. The original air cleaner assembly with a brand new and correct air filter element tops the freshly rebuilt original Holleys and their original linkage with a new reproduction choke and idle solenoid. Date coded wires, a date coded fuel filter and a brand new reproduction voltage regulator and ballast resistor keep the mill company. A new Antique Auto Battery yellow top group 24 battery connects up with new battery cables provide cranking power while a rebuilt master cylinder and brake booster keep the restored wiper motor company on the firewall. The motor fires up with a roar, the six pack opens as it should and the original numbers-correct transmission and new clutch shifts crisply. Pick a nice day, point it where you want to go and hang on!

Inside, you’ll sit on very comfortable restored seats with new seat foams. The dash pad is an excellent reproduction of the ‘70-only piece with the embossed Challenger nameplate and faux stitching. The ‘70-only console is also excellent and holds its original Hurst Pistol Grip shifter with new wood grain handles and top and bottom bezels. The door panels are excellent as are the armrest pads. The headliner and carpeting are new, the latter covered in Auto Custom Carpet floor mats with the T/A logo in bright blue thread. The ‘70-only AM radio is in place, the gauges are excellent originals while the door handles and lock levers are new. The steering wheel is a mint original with excellent grain and a very nice original blue center pad.

T/As have some of the most stable Challenger prices through up and down markets. They’re stable investments that are a blast to show and drive, and they just won’t lose money when they’re done as well as this one. The car is one of only three with the Gator top and the B3 paint, it runs like a top and we’ve got the original broadcast sheet and fender tags – call us and lock this one up!
