Ford has done an excellent job of growing their fifth generation Mustang into one very impressive halo vehicle. Wearing vivid Grabber Blue paint under sinister black stripes, 2010 Roush 427R number 301 has been in the care of two meticulous owners since new and presents excellent in virtually every way. The car’s showroom fresh body is 100% straight with no history of accidents or damage of any kind. One steely-eyed glance down its rock solid fuselage nets not so much as a dent or ding anywhere. And a close inspection of Roush’s high quality add-ons reveals a seamless and almost invisible transition to Ford’s tight and glossy panels. It all adds up to one red hot rag-top that conveys a premium sense of collectability. And when that collectability is combined with the car’s earth-shaking performance, it creates one timeless and incredibly desirable street slayer!

Combining sculpted, muscular sheetmetal and well-planned appearance upgrades with a buttoned down stance and clean, modern detailing, this awesome Roush rarity takes Ford designer J. Mays’ theme of ‘retro-futurism’ and literally brings it to life. At the front of the car a traditional Mustang grille hangs a blacked out horse between two crystal clear driving lights and two factory headlights. Below that grille, a custom Roush front valence complements Roush lower valence lamps with functional cooling ducts and an aggressive chin spoiler. Behind that valence, a factory Mustang GT hood anchors a broad Roush 427R center stripe between clean “ROUSHCHARGED” decals, a chip-free factory windshield and a black “ROUSH” windshield banner. Below that hood, traditional Roush Performance emblems sit inside of swept “427R” decals which narrow as they stretch rearward between custom side splitters and a black convertible top. And at the back of the car, a three-piece racing spoiler hangs above sequenced LED tail lamps, a custom Roush “427R” faux fuel filler, a third pristine Roush Performance emblem and an injection-molded rear bumper that frames large stainless exhaust tips.

Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford’s smooth 4.6 liter V8, the 427R utilizes an intercooled supercharger to crank out a stout 435 horsepower and a stellar 400 lb./ft. of torque. Roush’s patented ROUSHcharger is an Eaton style blower that exhales through a relocated and redesigned single core cross-flow intercooler which helps manage on-track temperatures and create gobs of torque-rich power. In front of that blower, a newly redesigned Roush air induction system provides a cleaner appearance and better efficiency; and below that blower, a familiar Roush Performance intake manifold complements molded, Roush-exclusive hoses. Ford’s storied ‘mod motor’ is a very strong engine as is, but the experts at Roush went ahead and installed a beefier cooling system and a recalibrated ECM in case this Mustang’s new owner wanted to spend ample time at the track. As with all 427Rs, the car’s radiator support proudly displays a Roush Performance badge which lists the engine’s power output and verifies its authenticity. And on its passenger’s side inner fender you’ll find a satin metal plate with the signature of the Roush expert who bolted the engine together. Aesthetically the super clean engine bay features Roush Performance’s typical OEM style expertise, which was amped up even more for the 2010 model year, and displays hardly any signs of usage at all. And when you fire the raucous mill up, you become the composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister whines and octane-fueled roars!

Straight from Ford this drop-top’s D2C platform is a very capable foundation which, with added power from Roush Performance, makes this track ready Mustang a true force to be reckoned with. Behind the engine, a factory 5-speed manual transmission drives a rugged Ford 8.8-inch rear end which houses road course appropriate 3.55 gears. That stout drivetrain combines with a Roush tuned front strut and three link rear suspension to give the car long legs at the big end and good power out of the corners. Braking is handled by factory equipped front and rear discs that are aided by both Ford’s standard anti-lock system and recalibrated AdvanceTrac traction control. The car’s killer engine note is provided by a custom stainless steel Roush Performance catback exhaust system which is a ‘no brainer’ dealer-installed option. And at the corners of the floor, fantastic looking cast chrome Roush Performance 20 inch wheels spin super sticky 275/35 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx radials around a set of Roush locking lug nuts. The bottom of this wicked 427R, which is super clean and shows no signs of abuse, appears to have spent 80% of its life tucked away in a dry garage and 20% of its life serving as a pampered weekend cruiser.

Inside the excellent looking cockpit of this super cool Mustang, Roush Performance implemented subtle but tasteful upgrades which are immediately noticeable from both an appearance and performance standpoint. In front of the driver, custom Roush Performance gauges which feature silver readouts and bold “ROUSH” scripts, hang between a Roush Performance boost gauge and an autographed dash panel. Beside the driver, a Roush Performance short throw shifter centers a black Roush cue ball shift knob inside a “ROUSH” branded center console. Under the occupants firm buckets seats, which are attractive black units that have been accented with black suede inserts and Grabber Blue stitching, are both supportive enough for track day and comfortable enough for cruise night. At the floor, masculine Roush Performance foot pedals hang over like-new black carpet that’s protected by spotless, “ROUSH” branded floor mats and bordered by satin finished Roush Performance sill plates. Behind the cockpit, a pristine trunk looks as good as the day it rolled off UAW 387’s Flat Rock assembly line. And naturally, all the typical amenities that you’d expect in a new Mustang are present and accounted for including Ford’s award-winning SYNC system, climate control, a powerful Shaker 500 audio system, cruise control, power accessories and Ford’s MyColor ambient lighting.

The sale of this showroom fresh Roush pony car includes the original Ford window sticker outlined above, the original Roush window sticker outlined above, the car’s original Ford owner’s manual, the car’s original Roush owner’s manual, records for the small amount of service the car has required, an AutoCheck report and eBay ad from when the car’s current owner purchased it, a current CarFax report, both of the car’s keys and fobs, a wheel lug socket for the Roush 20 inch wheels, and a Roush license plate.

This mighty Mustang 427R, with its superb out-of-the-box abilities, is one of the most complete packages Roush Performance has ever produced. It’ll tear up serious tracks, embarrass most street cars without breaking a sweat, and drive you home in leather-lined comfort day in and day out. If you’re looking for a showroom fresh pony car that’s fast, sexy, exclusive and generally head and shoulders above the pack, we have a Grabber Blue convertible with your name on it!
