Thanks to a recent surge in two-wheel popularity, there are tons of great looking custom bikes on the market. And unlike some of the bigger names in the industry, these creations aren’t just assembly line, sell to the highest bidder business boosters either; they’re highly planned, highly detailed show pieces that have the performance and dependability to back up their cool parking lot appeal. With only 476 miles on its polished S&S Sidewinder V-twin motor, this road ready 2005 Bourget’s Fat Daddy cruiser is a fully sorted turn-key custom with exceptional attention to detail and great fit and finish. If you’re a two wheel enthusiast who’s looking for killer style and proven reliability at an exceptional price, your search is over!
Since it was founded in 1993 in Phoenix, Arizona, Bourget’s Bike Works has churned out some of the most macho, professionally built motorcycles on the planet. Chock full of custom fabricated components, which promote higher levels of performance and significantly increase that all important ‘WOW’ factor, their models are built with the same no expense spared, best of everything approach that is a cornerstone of the universally appealing ‘custom Harley’ mindset. With their hard metal veneers and deep-throated roars, Bourget’s signature models like this 2005 Fat Daddy are explicitly designed to turn heads and inspire stares. And this bike, fully detailed in realistic flames, bolted together with layers of polished metal and powered by a fully sorted drivetrain, is some of the best work they’ve ever produced!
While most commercial choppers are standardized, mass produced packages which lack the intensity and attention to detail of true custom builds, Bourget bikes maintain a level of style and authenticity that can be tweaked and further customized to create an individual masterpiece. This particular Fat Daddy features traditional Bourget’s sheetmetal that, along with the frame, has been bathed in a brilliant coat of Black Cherry paint which somehow manages to be both striking and sophisticated at the same time. Once that deep metallic paint was dry, a dynamic realistic flame job, which begins at the front fender and flows through the ultra-big gas tank to the rear fender, was added under a cool skeleton graphic that serves as a sinister custom touch. When the skeleton had been completely ‘brought to life’, every inch of paint was covered in a high quality layer of clearcoat which creates a spectacular, glossy shine. The result is a first-rate paint job which combines with the bikes completely chromed and polished accessories to create a great looking road warrior with instant curb appeal!
At the front of the bike, a polished fork hangs a chrome headlight and chrome LED turn signals above a 21 inch polished aluminum wheel which wears a 127/70 Avon Venom X tire. At the side of that custom aluminum wheel, a disc brake system utilizes braided brake lines to squeeze a massive chrome Bourget’s Bike Works caliper around a giant drilled rotor. On top of the polished fork, custom chrome sweeper handle bars center a small digital gauge pod between polished leavers for the bikes brakes and stylish Bourget’s Bike Works mirrors. Behind that front fork, the bikes Black Cherry frame holds a highly detailed S&S V-twin engine, which is completely decked in chrome and produces a classic, instantly recognizable sound, above Bourget’s famous in-frame oil cooler. Behind that engine, a chrome-capped Primo three open primary belt drive sits below a billet guard and bullet style LED tail lights that are anchored by the Black Cherry frame; and at the top of that engine, an ultra-big chopper fuel tank sits in front of form fitting, red stitched leather seats and a removable sissy bar. Behind those seats, a short rear fender hangs over a huge 300/35 Avon Venom R tire that rides a custom 18 inch polished aluminum wheel. And a second large rotor combines with a second chrome caliper and more braided brake hoses to provide quick and even stops. Rivaling the best custom built pieces on the market; this awesome Fat Daddy is a 100% road ready bike that features an unmatched level of detail and a classic custom appearance.
The heart of this awesome Bourget’s bike is a proven 113 cubic inch S&S Super Sidewinder V-twin engine which utilizes electronic compression releases, roller rockers, forged pistons, an S&S 600 camshaft, polished tappet blocks and an S&S high volume, high pressure oil pump to create a stout 10 to 1 compression ratio and a broad, flat torque band on readily available 93 octane pump gas. Founded in 1958, S&S Cycles is one of the biggest and most trusted motorcycle engine builders in the world, and this choppers V-twin is one of the most powerful engines they produce. At the top of the highly detailed motor, Bourget’s Bike Works branded chrome rocker box covers sit above “S&S” scripts that are stamped on the polished, air cooled cylinders. On the right side of the bike, an S&S Cycles Super G one barrel carburetor sits behind a chrome air cleaner that’s positioned just above polished two-into-one exhaust pipes. Below that carburetor, chrome rod covers lead your eye past a chrome fuel pressure gauge to a polished cam cover that is branded with “BBW” lettering. And on the left side of the bike, a chrome coil cover sits in front of black Accel Graphite RFI Suppression wires that snake their way to the engines spark plugs. All this top notch hardware rides on a rigid Springer Softail suspension which flattens the pavement and provides an unmatched vintage feel. And all the S&S motors power flows through a proven Jim’s 6-speed overdrive transmission which features aftermarket chrome foot and shifter pegs.
From its polished handle bars to its polished kick stand, this 2005 Bourget’s Fat Daddy is a completely sorted show piece that’s ready to enjoy today. There is a definite difference between even the nicest production bikes and customs like this; and every piece of this motorcycle adds to both its awesome curb appeal and amazing street prowess. It represents years of open road freedom in a reliable, fully sorted turnkey wrapper that can be yours for an unbeatable price!
