When you work somewhere as cool as this place, it’s tough not to lose that staring, ‘kid in a candy store’ innocence that used to come out at every car show. Thankfully cars like this ’69 Camaro RS/SS arrive and are perfect cars to revitalize your love affair with American muscle cars. With its dual-quad GM ZZ4 350 cubic inch V8, modern suspension and historic look, this stunning ’69 Camaro straddles the line of resto-mod and pro-tourer. Its glossy vibrant red body is straight, solid and undeniably classic. In fact, everything on this car is traditional and very familiar appearing, but take a closer look and you’ll see the 5-speed manual transmission, Detroit speed suspension components, or even the late model Camaro seats that have been transplanted into this F-body. If you’re looking for some Detroit metal that can turn heads from here to California, and doesn’t make excuses for a previous owner’s compromised vision, this sweet Camaro is the flavor you been craving!

The beneficiary of a complete restoration by two professional bodymen, this slick ‘69 F1 features an athletic appearance that’s highlighted by a breathtaking red paint that was borrowed from the Mazda Miata line of colors. Take one look down the sides of the car’s rock solid body and you’ll find that great care was taken to ensure all seams are both narrow and precise. Step closer to the car’s mirror-like paint and check out flat surfaces that are a product of both rust-free original sheetmetal and one high quality GM replacement fender. Grab the car’s well-adjusted hood and feel how smoothly it closes to provide an excellent fit that’s set off by a glossy clearcoat shell. Ultimately, it all adds up to one very well done classic with more than a few modern internals via a great combination of skilled workmanship and first-rate finishing.

There’s no question that the ’69 Camaro is one of the best-looking pony cars of all time. And when a skilled builder throws in a few of his own custom touches, it only serves to make things better! At the front of this clean F1, a satin black Rally Sport grille hangs a familiar “Z/28” emblem between stainless-trimmed headlights, a body-matched bumper and crystal clear parking lamps. Above that grille, a traditional hood anchors like-new glass behind straight stainless trim and bright-finished wipers. At the sides of that hood, sculpted fenders combine with traditional chrome door handles, marker lamps and chrome mirrors to add just the right amount of detail to the car’s glowing red profile. And at the back of those fenders, a D80 decklid spoiler hangs above flush-fitting tail lights, a second “Z/28” emblem and a mirror-like bumper.

When this killer F-Body rolled out of the restoration shop it was equipped with a GM ZZ4 350 cubic inch V8 crate engine that creates 355+hp. The first thing you’ll notice is the custom cross ram aluminum intake manifold that houses dual 450 Holley carburetors. Unlike a lot of dual carburetor setups, initial start-up is extremely smooth to the point you would have guessed it was fuel-injected. On either side of the chrome air filter you’ll find Chevrolet branded valve covers resting on the aluminum heads that have been equipped with adapters that allow standard style valve covers to bolt to center bolt heads. Cooling for the powerplant is provided by a giant BeCool aluminum radiator that‘s equipped with fresh hoses and an electric puller fan. Spent gases from the engine’s combustion are whisked through a slick pair of Jet Hot coated set of Hooker headers. Aesthetically, the car’s satin black firewall and fully finished fenders look great against the 355ci mill.

Underneath this tire shredding Super Sport you’ll find a fully restored factory chassis that’s ready for both the strip and the turntable. Behind the car’s engine, a Tremec TKO500 5-speed manual turns a familiar Ford 9-inch which hangs pavement melting 3.70 gears between fully integrated Detroit Speed mini tubs. At the front of the car the factory front sub frame has been upgraded with a Detroit Speed upper and lower control arms, and a Detroit Speed anti-sway bar. At the rear of the car the factory leaf spring setup has also been upgraded with a Detroit Speed rear-leaf springs. At the corners of the car, Baer Track 4 brake calipers clamp large 13” calipers on the front, and 11” rotors on the rear . Exhaust flows from the afore mentioned coated headers into a true dual system that’s complete with an aggressive Jet Hot coated transverse mounted Flowmaster muffler and rear mounted turn downs. Power is put to the pavement through razor-sharp Polished Aluminum Budnick Gasser wheels which spin Nitto NT555 Extreme radials. And the car’s fresh satin black floors, which have been restored to better-than-new condition, feature a full array of finishing components that include a new stainless fuel tank, new stainless fuel and brake lines and a full set of spotless stainless hardware.

Open the door of this awesome F1 hardtop and you’ll find a black and white houndstooth interior. You might admit that the interior looks familiar, and that’s because the builders opted to customize an interior from a late model Camaro to fit within this historic F-body. The results are nothing short of spectacular. At the center of the car a black-trimmed houndstooth bucket and bench seat combination is in fantastic shape. At the front of the car, a good looking dash hangs black SW Power gauges next to the great sounding Pioneer AM/FM/CD player and the controls for the Vintage Air Conditioning system. At the bottom of the car, like new black carpet frames a chrome Hurst shifter, and is protected by tough black floor mats. And at the top of the car, a tight black headliner retains all of its color and pliability. In front of the driver, a new three spoke steering wheel spins around a bright Chevy bowtie horn button. At the sides of the passengers, unique door panels are decorated with excellent stainless trim and custom door handles. Ultimately, the modern interior is a fantastic place to log miles from and is ready for everything from a cruise to the local car show or competing on events like the Hot Rod Power Tour.

In summary, this spectacular ’69 Camaro represents classic automotive Americana at its very finest, combining stunning design with simple execution and no-excuses, no-limits performance. Put it on a pedestal and stare at it… Take it to the local cruise… Take it on the Hot Rod Power Tour… Whatever you elect to do with this cool Camaro, it’s sure to be the centerpiece of your collection, the focal point of your garage, and, most importantly, the car you most look forward to driving and being seen in!
