Steal one glance at this Mach 1’s super slick fuselage and you’ll see what top notch craftsmanship truly looks like! A product of a high quality restoration, and a complete pro-touring build that was performed by a dedicated group of Mustang enthusiasts, its solid body was stripped to bare metal, thoroughly reworked and transformed from a tired old mare into a thoroughbred cruiser. Once that intense labor and tedious detailing resulted in good panel alignment, a smooth coat of custom red basecoat was accented with glossy black war paint, sealed in a durable clearcoat shell and buffed to a fantastic shine. The result is one mean looking pony car that looks good, runs great and has the macho bark to match its razor-sharp bite!

Ford designers made sure every year of the first generation Mustang had plenty of visual appeal. But, in my opinion, it doesn’t get much better than 1969’s masterful combination of aggressive accents and well-placed trim. At the front of this red hot coupe, a stainless trimmed grille hangs a prominent galloping horse emblem between traditional high beam headlights, H4 low beam headlights, a thin chrome bumper and a fierce chin spoiler. Behind that grille a stainless-pinned hood, which is complete with a functional Boss 429 scoop, visually balances glossy rear window louvers while well-maintained trim combines with bright chrome drip rails, familiar stainless wipers and body-matched racing mirrors to frame like-new glass. Below that hood, correct chrome door handles combine with fresh marker lamps, traditional stainless rocker spears and deep-set quarter scoops to add detail to the car’s sinister mug shot. And behind those door handles, classy B-pillar emblems lead the eye to a concave rear valence which hangs a custom billet fuel filler and LED tail lights between a glossy decklid spoiler, a blocky “MUSTANG” script, a second chrome bumper and huge stainless exhaust tips.

After equipping the car with a killer body and big aspirations, this Mustang’s builders turned their attention to finding a suitable powerplant. And, since a reliable Ford Windsor V8 was completely rebuilt and thoroughly augmented, their philosophy must’ve been ‘why fix what ain’t broke’. Pull the pins on the “383 STROKER” branded hood and you’ll find a punched out blue powerhouse that’s been massaged to roughly 475 horsepower and 441 lb./ft. of torque by none other than Mr. Dan Hackenberg. At the top of that big engine, a K&N X-Stream air cleaner feeds a 670 CFM Holley Street Avenger carburetor that’s married to aftermarket fuel lines, an underhood pressure gauge and a chrome mechanical pump. At the base of that carburetor, a powder coated Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake rides between ported Dart Pro heads, a Competition camshaft and custom, powder coated valve covers. At the base of those heads, tuned long tube headers send spent gases spiraling into a great sounding true dual exhaust system. In front of those headers, a Proform billet distributor sends fire from a Proform ignition system to loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. In front of that distributor, a polished March serpentine system spins a fresh alternator and a fresh power steering pump beside a Classic Auto AC compressor. And in front of that serpentine system, a polished Ron Davis radiator rides between a heavy duty power steering cooler and two giant electric puller fans. Aesthetically, the car’s clean powerplant sits in a completely sorted engine bay that’s been sprayed with traditional black paint and finished with stainless hose sleeves. And nice pieces like a new Painless wiring harness, a high quality Optima battery, a professional CSR catch can and a chrome Monte Carlo bar ensure fun-filled road trips and crowd-gathering show days.

What would a good restoration be without a great foundation? Take a look under this curve carving Mach 1 and you’ll find rock solid floors above a straight chassis that’s ready for years of carefree cruising. Behind the menacing 383, a heavy duty C6 automatic turns a tried and true Ford posi-traction rear end that’s equipped with a stalwart Detroit Locker differential. At the ends of the car, a completely rebuilt suspension, which is equipped with a modern power steering system, maximizes both launch and handling characteristics. And at the corners of the car, Baer stainless brakes, which utilize bright red calipers, small braided lines and large drilled and slotted rotors, provide hours of fade-free, power-assisted stops. Step on the throttle and a fresh stainless fuel tank supplies gas to fresh stainless fuel lines while the aforementioned headers hurl exhaust into three inch custom pipes that breathe through a fat crossover, small inline resonators and aggressive 30 series Flowmasters. Power is put to the pavement by an autographed set of 18 inch Foose Nitrous Thrust wheels that are wrapped in fresh 255/40 front and 275/40 rear Nitto Invo radials. And everything under this Ford, from its Powermaster starter and thick subframe connectors to its polished transmission pan and Caltracs style traction bars, is fully-sorted and ready to hit the road!

Open the door to this awesome Mustang and you’ll find a fully restored cockpit which mixes the best elements of Ford’s black vinyl interior with bright, body-matched accents. At the center of the car, custom-fit TMI sport buckets and a factory fold down bench prop new pleated covers between two piece lap belts and new chrome hardware. In front of those seats, a dual cowl dash hangs bright wood applique around a full assortment of rebuilt gauges, chrome knobs for the car’s climate system and an MP3 compatible, Sirius satellite radio-equipped Sony Xplod CD player. Below that dash, a stylish console props a traditional chrome T-handle shifter in front of more fade-free wood applique and a black factory armrest. Below that console, new black carpet anchors bright red accents beneath “mach 1” stitched floor mats. And at the sides of that carpet, stylish door panels hang pristine stainless trim, new chrome handles and more great looking wood applique in front of power windows and power door locks. In front of the driver, an impressive Jet steering wheel spins an authentic wood rim around a polished tilt steering column. Behind the passenger’s, the car’s “mach 1” branded decklid lifts to reveal a custom trunk that’s complete with a JL Audio HD 600/4 amp. And everything in the car is secured by a key fob controlled Viper security system that includes remote keyless entry and remote engine start.

The sale of this tweaked blue oval warrior includes an original owner’s manual, original dealer marketing materials, a 1969 license plate, two copies of the Deluxe Marti Report outlined above, two reproduction window stickers, complete cam specs, complete specs for the engine build, complete specs for the entire car, a stack of restoration receipts, an equally impressive stack of component paperwork, a nice Mustang print, and a small pile of historic ’69 Mach 1 information.

There’s simply nothing like keying up a legendary muscle car. The sound, the feeling of the idle, and the relentless surge of torque as you power through the gears. It’s very rare to find a well-executed restoration which carries an asking price of roughly half its original build cost, but this Mustang is exactly that.
