As nice as investment grade first generation Camaros are, it seems EVERYONE either owns one or knows someone who owns one. And as much as we enjoy seeing blue chip F1s come through our doors, it’s always great to find a pristine classic that’s built to enjoy. Being the avid Camaro fan that you are, you probably know finding a cool F1 isn’t all that hard. But the chances of scoring a well done pro-tourer for less than six figures is becoming increasingly difficult. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte specialize in F-Bodys of every flavor, we can offer you great opportunities like this awesome 1969 Camaro pro-tourer. Featuring a 502 horsepower big block, a custom Ride Tech suspension and a classic orange and white color combination, this F1 is a super cool muscle car that’s ready to kick your summer off right! If you’re ready for a classic bowtie that can be shown and driven without fear, don’t miss your chance to own this awesome Chevy!

A joint, frame-off restoration that was completed by Street Machinery of Cleveland, Ohio and Mongoose Motorsports of Ravenna, Ohio, this killer Camaro’s slick Hugger Orange body is the product of A LOT of time spent sweating details. From its straight panels to its painted stripes, which are buried under a thick clearcoat shell, the car’s metal displays craftsmanship that is nothing short of immaculate. Not surprisingly, every seam on this former quarter mile king has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. When you step close to the car’s mirror-like paint, you’ll find flat surfaces that are a product of both years of low mileage and generations of immaculate care. And ultimately, it all adds up to one very well done classic that would look right at home reflecting a summertime car show!

With classic proportions and modern detailing, the first generation Camaro is an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this car’s clean body, a stainless-trimmed Rally Sport grille hangs a bright “RS” emblem above a showroom-quality bumper, crystal clear parking lamps and a stylish D80 chin spoiler. Above that grille, a traditional ZL2 cowl induction hood rides between a familiar “Camaro by Chevrolet” emblem and like-new glass that’s bordered by a combination of straight stainless trim and matte-finished wipers. At the sides of that hood, sculpted fenders combine with a correct chrome mirror, traditional chrome door handles, correct X11 accents and fifth generation “CAMARO” scripts to add just the right amount of detail to the car’s tangerine profile. And at the back of those fenders, a D80 decklid spoiler hangs above flush-fitting taillights, a second “RS” emblem and a second showroom-quality bumper.

Tear this Chevy’s hydraulic hood open and you’ll find a 502 cubic inch, 502 horsepower GM Performance Parts monster block that’s wedged inside a clean, professionally detailed engine bay. Straight from GM this beefy package utilizes a tough iron block, a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic roller cam to turn stout 9.6 to 1 compression into unmatched throttle response! At the top of the big engine, a reusable Spectre filter element twists wind through a polished intake tube to a large Holley carburetor that’s fitted with fresh stainless fuel lines and high quality braided hoses. Under that carburetor, an aluminum bowtie intake rides between aluminum GM Performance Parts heads that are capped by polished and painted Proform Parts valve covers. Below those valve covers, spotless Chevy Orange paint is framed by loomed GM Performance Parts plug wires and ceramic coated, long tube headers. At the back of that paint, a GM HEI distributor sequences sparks past a chrome power brake booster. Opposite that distributor, a Billet Specialties V-Trac belt system spins a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and a polished power steering pump at the edges of a high quality Edelbrock water pump. And in front of that V-Trac system, a polished Be Cool radiator cycles coolant between a polished cowl piece and traditional stainless fender bars. Virtually every facet of this Camaro’s fresh engine bay has been taken from a 10 to an 11. And even the small details like Competition crankcase breathers, a chrome hood latch and trick dipsticks have all been carefully planned and well executed.

The car’s ferocious big block sends torque to a narrowed 12 bolt rear end via a tried and true GM Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed. That familiar transmission rides behind a fully rebuilt front clip that sandwiches Ride Tech ShockWaves between Heidts tubular control arms. That narrowed pumpkin hangs inside a custom Ride Tech 4-link rear clip that’s been fitted with two more Ride Tech ShockWaves. That world-class suspension sits inside a stalwart C5 Corvette brake system that utilizes orange calipers and drilled and slotted rotors to provide serious handling prowess and first rate stopping ability. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned long-tube headers into a stainless true dual system that’s complete with rowdy Magnaflow mufflers and rear-mounted turndowns. Putting the power to the pavement is a set of mirror-like Billet Specialties Mags which spin 245/40ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs in front of 275/35ZR20 Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs. And the car’s clean satin black floors, which have been restored to better-than-new condition, feature fresh stainless lines, new stainless hardware and a large stainless fuel tank.

Open this Camaro’s solid-closing doors and you’ll find a mildly customized interior that wraps a nice blend of classic style and modern convenience around firm, leatherette seats. In front of those Summit-supplied seats, a modified dash hangs a Covan instrument panel behind modern Auto Meter gauges, an MP3-compatible JVC head unit and controls for the car’s Vintage Air Sure Fit air conditioning system. At the base of that dash, a traditional F1 console frames a factory horseshoe shifter. Below that console, high quality rubber floor mats protect like-new carpet. At the edges of that carpet, standard Camaro door panels center small armrests in pristine stainless hardware. In front of the driver, a factory tilt steering column spins a thick-rimmed wheel around satin-finished spokes. And behind the passengers, a custom upholstered trunk doubles as dry picnic storage and easy trophy exhibition.

The sale of this first class F-Body includes an attractive display board and a copy of the October 2012 Cruisin’ Times magazine in which the car was featured.

Chevrolet’s awesome first generation Camaro is one of the best combinations of performance and style Detroit ever produced. When you factor in this car’s top notch mechanical upgrades, it becomes one of the most desirable F1s on the market. And as a fast, fun and extremely stylish classic, it’s the perfect car for any discerning Chevy enthusiast or old school muscle car fan!
