The best thing about being a Camaro fan is: through five generations and 50 years of cars, GM has continuously provided a variety of purpose-built packages that are brimming with charisma. And today, when it comes to enjoyable classics, you simply can't go wrong with a well-built F1. Tastefully modified first generation cars continue to be some of the hottest selling metal on the market. And this massaged panther has all the right ingredients to bring big fun and even bigger appeal!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Assembled in June of 1967, this awesome Chevy is the beneficiary of a ground-up, rotisserie restoration that transformed it from a tired old pony into a timeless Super Sport tribute. The work began with stripping the car's body to bare metal, and fitting a solid center-section with fresh GM quarters. When those pieces were smooth and tightly aligned, PPG DP90 epoxy led hours of block-sanding. When that sanding was level, rich PPG 2-stage, a duplicate of the car's original Madeira Maroon pigment, was raised to a show stopping shine. And today, this Camaro is top-notch classic that preserves some of the best attributes of Chevrolet history!

With its great proportions and modernist panels, GM's first-generation F-Body is an inherently attractive design. And with today's world-class restoration techniques, it has become an excellent canvas for any skilled builder to create a seriously nice car. At the front of this clean F1, a black, “SS” branded grille centers '67-exclusive parking lamps between bright headlights, a dent-free bumper and a requisite D80 chin spoiler. Above that grille, a Camaro-branded header leads the eye to a louvered Super Sport hood, which founds chip-free glass behind straight stainless trim and polished bowtie mirrors. At the sides of that hood, sculpted fenders and dent-free rocker guards combine with traditional door handles and an array of ornate emblems to detail the car's glossy profile. And at the back of those fenders, '67-exclusive taillights illuminate a D80 deck spoiler, an “SS” branded fuel cap and a second dent-free bumper.

ENGINE

Under the hood you'll find 327 cubic inches of date-correct small block that's been bored, balanced, blueprinted, deburred, align honed and coated in Glyptal for better oiling. At the top of that mean mill, a polished air cleaner hangs a quality K&N filter element above a Holley 650 double pumper that's wired to stainless fuel lines and a Mr. Gasket pressure gauge. Under that carb, a massaged Edelbrock Performer RPM intake feeds massaged 461 heads that mix a blueprinted valvetrain with a 3-angle valve job. That valvetrain seats bronze guides, titanium retainers and Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers amid Comp pushrods, Comp springs, hardened seats, and stainless 2.02 and 1.60 valves. Those carefully chosen components feed a forged crank, forged rods, a Comp solid roller cam and Keith Black 10 to 1 hypereutectic pistons. At the back of that cam, an aftermarket points distributor sequences spark between an aftermarket coil and Accel 300+ wires. Cooling comes courtesy of a re-cored radiator, which rides between a quick-spinning pusher fan and a quality Edelbrock water pump. Lubrication is provided by a high-volume oil pump, which siphons a Milodon 6-quart pan that's fitted with a Diamond Stripper windage tray. Exhaust rumbles through Hooker Competition long-tubes, which reflect polished breathers and finned Cal Custom valve covers. Ancillaries are top-notch in every way, with ARP studs and Cloyes timing components accompanying a Fluidamper and pliable GM hoses. And an evenly sprayed combination of Chevy Orange skin and Satin Black framing is carefully interrupted by an array of correct marks and decals.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Given the power that 327 produces, it seems only natural that the car's restorers chose to stick with GM's proven Muncie 4-speed. That stalwart gear slinger, dressed in a blueprinted Lakewood scattershield, utilizes a steel Hayes flywheel and quality Centerforce clutch to twist power through a 3-inch driveshaft. That tube is connected to a 12-bolt GM pumpkin, which is finished with 3.42 gears, 33-spline axles and .5-inch studs. That first-rate drivetrain pushes a modified back-half, which centers 4-leaf springs and QA-1 adjustable shocks in a full outfit of polyurethane bushings. Opposite that back-half, a modified front-clip centers Global West control arms, modern coil-over-shocks and a 1.25-inch Suspension Techniques sway bar amid solid subframe bushings. Steering and braking is true to factory form, with a power assisted rack leading power front disc and rear drum binders. That skeleton is dissected by a Mandrel-bent TA Performance exhaust system, which anchors brash Flowmaster mufflers under solid floors that, like the car's chassis, have been bead-blasted and restored to a very authentic appearance. Those floors roll on stainless-trimmed Rallies, which spin 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As in front of 255/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As. And accessories like CalTracs traction bars, beefy subframe connectors and a TA Performance differential cover ensure this Chevy is ready for the strip or the street.

INTERIOR

The Standard Black interior hiding behind this Camaro's small doors illustrates the true, no frills intentions of Chevrolet's original pony car. Its pleated bucket seats look and feel fantastic. In front of those seats, a stainless-trimmed dash, which exhibits no signs of warping or peeling, hangs original-style Auto Meter accessory gauges below rebuilt factory telemetry and direct-fit audio. A correct console frames a traditional Hurst shifter. Fade-free carpet founds deluxe, Fisher-branded lap belts inside Standard door panels that complement bright stainless with glossy frames. familiar Super Sport Steering Wheel spins monochromatic spokes around a big Auto Meter tach that's complete with a shift light. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk hides a full-size spare tire.
