The first generation Camaro might just be one of the best cars ever created. Extremely fun to drive with plenty of power and striking good looks, these cars enjoy a cult like following and provide one of the most enjoyable classic car ownership experiences on the planet. This well-done 1967 Camaro pro-tourer is an amazing car that, thanks to a perfectly balanced 500hp+ small block V8 and a substantially improved suspension, is ready for years of endless cruising. Built by Classic Muscle Motor Company in Daytona Beach, Florida, this razor sharp ‘67 Camaro features a seamless, custom appearance that’s highlighted by a slick glossy black DuPont paint. Take one look down the sides of the cars rock solid body and it becomes very obvious that great care was taken to ensure all gaps were at better than factory standards. The product of a $125,000 build, this top-notch Camaro features a great combination of skilled workmanship, modern niceties, and first-rate finishing that sets it apart in a crowded segment of extremely nice cars.

At the front of the body, a custom billet aluminum Camaro Rally Sport grille is flanked by correctly functioning Rally Sport headlights. Below that grille, a body width chrome bumper is in good shape and rides above a D80 style SCCA Trans Am style front spoiler and bright daytime LED running lights. Move past the moderate hood scoop and you’ll see how the sides of the car are absent of any emblems or markings. This creates a very crisp appearance which allows the basic design of the body panels to be the focal point of attention. At the back of the car, a clean trunk lid is equipped with a traditional Camaro D80 spoiler, and two ‘67 Camaro exclusive chrome trimmed tail lights hang above a body-matched fuel cap and a second show worthy chrome bumper. The historic look of a first year Camaro is captured brilliantly throughout this build, and touches like the LED headlights bring it into the 21st century.

Lift up the glossy black hood and you’ll find a powerful 500hp small block DART V8 that’s housed in a smoothed black engine compartment which has been extremely detailed. At the top of the motor, a flat black Billet Specialties air filter feeds air through an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor that sits atop a large DART intake. To the sides of the intake, Billet Specialties valve covers sit on the ported and polished aluminum DART heads. Much like the rest of the immaculate build, the engine received only the best during its extensive build. Inside the engine you’ll find a blueprinted Eagle forged crankshaft, forged pistons, full roller Howard cam and lifters, and Scorpion roller rockers. Spent gasses travel out ceramic coated headers and enter into an H-pipe dual exhaust before exiting out the rear of the car. At the front of the engine, a Billet Specialties TruTrac accessory drive system really finishes off the amazing look of the potent small block. In front of the engine a Champion Cooling radiator is responsible for ensuring that no stoplight leads to overheating issues. Aesthetically, the engine bay looks amazing thanks to the smoothed firewall, the smoothed inner fender wells, and the billet aluminum hood hinges.

Take a look under the car and you’ll find a long list of small modifications which add up to big appearance and performance gains. The impressive small block sends power to a Tremec TKO500 5-speed manual transmission which spins a custom built driveshaft that turns a Ford 9” rear end with 3.70 limited slip differential. Holding that stellar drivetrain off the ground is a Heidts front subframe, Heidts 4-link rear and Heidts sub-frame connectors. At the corner’s you’ll find Billet adjustable coilover shocks that provide immaculate handling characteristics for the F-body. Stops come quickly thanks to Wilwood drilled and slotted power disc brakes. Spent gasses travel out the ceramic coated headers and through Flowmaster mufflers to create a true muscle car era sound. Aesthetically the sub frame and rear end look incredible as they have been painted a vibrant red to accent the black floor pans. You’ll notice here that the car has been mini-tubbed to make room for the wide Michelin Pilot rubber that wrap the 17” Billet specialties aluminum. Like any high quality frame-off restoration, the bottom of this Camaro is as nicely finished as its top.

Open the door of this slick Camaro and you’ll find a completely custom black leather interior that give the car a nice, updated appearance. The black seats are firm and are accented very nicely by red stitching. Completely custom front door panels, which present a like-new appearance, hold custom Camaro emblems and chrome hardware. Between the seats, new black carpet provides a base for the cars custom center console with billet aluminum accessories. The shifter for the 5-speed is housed in the console, and above the shifter you’ll see the Soundstream double DIN AM/FM/DVD screen that sends tunes through a 500-watt Soundstream amplifier and 10” Subwoofer. In front of the seats, the cars dash is free of the typical drying and cracking found in first generation Camaros. In front of the driver, the dash has been equipped Dakota Digital VHX gauges, and beside those gauges the Vintage Air controls blow out ice cold air for those long summer drives. In front of the driver, an awesome looking chrome three-spoke steering wheel looks right at home. Behind the cockpit, you’ll find a matching highly detailed trunk with custom trunk panels, and a pull way compartment that will reveal the massive amplifier.

Taking the market by storm over 40 years ago, the first generation Camaro remains one of the hottest collector cars on the market for enthusiasts both young and old.
