Shipped to Classic Chevrolet in Mentor, Ohio, the total window sticker price including destination was $34,349. That wasn’t exactly cheap in 1990 dollars, especially for a car that would only see 2,400 miles a year!

We have some great extras with the car. First, the original window sticker which is always good to find. We also have the original brochures and press kit, the full owner’s manual packet with all inserts and the full two-volume service manual set. Best of all is the blue removable roof panel, making this one of the few Corvettes which sports both hardtops!

Drop inside the driver’s seat (which is the preferred method of entry with the top stored under the back hatch.) The revised instrument display now combined a digital speedometer with an analog tachometer and other gauges and looks great while soft touch materials on the center console and door panels make for peasant cruising. The high power Delco/Bose system sounds great, even when cruising with the windows down and the top out! That cassette radio is a minor rarity, also: With the introduction of a factory CD player in 1990, they outsold the cassette decks three to one. Every knob and switch works in here from all lights to the electronically controlled automatic A/C. The rear hatch area and carpeting are in excellent shape, as well. Once inside you’ll want to stay here. You’ll find excuses to drive it!

Outside you’ll find excellent, glossy and well cared-for code 41 black paint. The original rims are in excellent shape and carry new 245/45 and 275/40ZR17 Eagle F1 GS tires. All lights and lenses look their mileage rather than their age. Quality control wasn’t an oxymoron at Bowling Green by this time and this is a tight, well-built car. The glass is in excellent shape and the power windows and hatch release work as they should. Both tops are in excellent condition and are a real bonus considering GM wanted nearly a grand for them on the window sticker!

There isn’t much to say about the undercarriage and that’s a good thing. Other than the tires and fluid changes its bone stock under here. You’ll find the stock mufflers, stock suspension and stock everything else. What needs to be changed on a 22,000 mile car??

Open the large clamshell hood and look inside. Topped with its Tuned Port Injection system the L98 350ci engine pumps out 250hp for quick getaways, teaming with a TH700-R4 automatic transmission as its accomplice. If you’re not a Corvette data guru you’ll be pleased to know the standard 245hp rating bumped up 5hp with a touch more compression thanks to the addition of the performance axle ratio and oil cooler. 14.2@99.1mph—that’s moving. There aren’t any modifications under here which can wreck a cars resale value and prematurely age a car. You’ll also see the stone-stock front suspension, too. This isn’t a low mileage race car; it’s been treated with respect from day one!

Stock, exceptionally well cared-for and killer in black on black this Corvette is one to hang on to. Corvettes of any year are a blast to own, and these more modern cars are no exception.
