As cool as first generation Camaros are, it seems that EVERYONE either owns one or knows someone who owns one. And as much as we enjoy watching killer F1s parade through our doors, it's always nice to see a well-done second generation car. Being an avid Camaro fan, you probably know finding a highly polished F2 isn't all that hard. But the chances of scoring a unique, fully-sorted pro-tourer seem almost as likely as purchasing a winning lotto ticket. Luckily, since the passionate gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte specialize in the unique and fully sorted, we can offer you one-of-a-kind opportunities like this attractive, carefully modified 'hugger'. Featuring a beefy 454, a smooth 700R4 4-speed and a modern leather interior, this super clean muscle car will ensure you enjoy miles of open road and plenty of high octane summers!

During its thorough reboot, this solid old panther was entirely disassembled and carefully stripped of its dull, original pigment. Once that prep was complete, an incredibly straight fuselage was augmented with a bit of fresh sheetmetal. As that massaged sheetmetal featured better-than-factory alignment, a rich coat of silver and black base was detailed with custom hood graphics and sealed in glossy clear. When that clear dried, labor-intensive hours were spent buffing a spectacular shine. And today, one close look at our high resolution photos reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one of the coolest Chevrolet muscle cars on the planet!

General Motors envisioned the F2 Camaro as a working man's Ferrari and, thanks to a better timeframe and bigger budget, effectively addressed many of the complaints enthusiasts had about the F1. Longer, wider, lower to the ground and more aggressive, the second generation was certainly more of a driver's car, and is widely regarded as some of the best iron Detroit ever produced. At the front of this coupe, a striking, two-piece valence centers bright chrome bumpers and a “Z28” branded grille between modern headlights, RS parking lamps and a factory spoiler that's been milled to race car-like aesthetics. Behind that valence, a substantial cowl induction hood anchors tinted, flush-mount glass between body-matched sport mirrors, well hidden windshield wipers and subtle black trim. At the sides of that hood, a clean fuselage keeps extraneous bits to an absolute minimum, even incorporating shaved doors. And at the back of that fuselage, a low profile ducktail rides above factory tail lights, a chrome tag latch, a straight bumper and black exhaust tips which hang in a modified roll pan.

Gaze into this Chevy's smooth, body-matched engine bay and you'll find 454 cubic inches of naturally aspirated fury! Unlike those homogenized LS motors, which seem to be the only pro-touring builds getting any respect, this Jet Black big block is a pump gas torque monster that's just as comfortable cruising country roads as it is lining up at stoplights. At the top of the sinister mill, a Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel mixes wind from a chrome, Chevrolet-branded air cleaner with fuel that's pumped through polished fluid lines and a small pressure gauge. That perfect air/fuel mixture flows into an aluminum intake, which is centered between attractive Chevrolet valve covers. At the back of that intake, a modern HEI distributor sequences spark through loomed Maxx Performance plug wires. Below those wires, Hooker Super Competition headers funnel spent gases into a large-diameter, true-dual exhaust system. At the front of those headers, a March accessory drive spins a polished alternator and coated power steering pump opposite a polished AC compressor and coated Edelbrock water pump. In front of that drive, a chrome support anchors a big radiator that's complete with two electric puller fans. And, while this engine's main purpose is to go straight at a very high rate of speed, it's still VERY impressive to look at.

Take a gander under this cool F-Body and you'll find a fully detailed chassis that mixes new age technology with old school durability. Thoroughly solid floorpans wear a clean coat of silver two-stage and, save for hours of buffing, are every bit as nice as the car's first rate exterior. At the center of those floors, a proven Turbo-Hydramatic 700R4 4-speed makes good use of a new Moser 9-inch and Randy's Ring and Pinion gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to sixth generation Corvette binders. Exhaust is handled by a series of 3-inch pipes, which swirl spent gases through chambered Flowmaster mufflers. At the front of the car, modern power steering complements a beefy sway bar and Ridetech coil-over-shocks. At the back of the car, a Martz Chassis 4-link mixes high quality mini tubs with a second set of coil-over-shocks. Torque melts the pavement thanks to multi-spoke Boze wheels, which spin 255/40ZR18 Goodyear Eagle F1s in front of 305/35ZR20 Goodyear Eagle F1s. And, as you can tell by our high resolution photos, not a detail was missed on this Chevy's fully-sorted undercarriage.

Open the car's long doors and you'll find a conservative black interior that's stylish and very livable. There's a quartet of leather bucket seats, which were donated by a 2002 Camaro. In front of those seats, a silver-trimmed dash hangs a bright Auto Meter gauges over a Sony CD player and mesh covered vents. At the bottom of that dash, a 2002 Camaro console centers a B&M Quick Silver shifter between fade-free carpet and thick rubber floor mats. Opposite that console, monochromatic door panels hang minimalist hardware over straight, stainless sill plates. Above those panels, a tight headliner stretches past pliable shoulder belts to big Pioneer speakers that are seated in a custom package tray. The driver stays connected to the road through a Momo steering wheel, which spins around a tilting column. And passengers haul cargo in a restored and painted trunk.

The sale of this awesome Chevy includes a stack of build receipts and component manuals.

One of Detroit's best combinations of performance and style, early second generation Camaros present excellent opportunity for savvy enthusiasts. And, because of their cool aesthetics, split-bumper cars are some of the most desirable F2s on the market. This fully sorted coupe, with its clean restoration and impressive drivetrain, is the kind of old school muscle that can make any enthusiast happy. And for the low asking price of $59,900, it's one heck of a deal!
