Chevrolet's first generation Camaro might just be one of the coolest cars ever created. Extremely fun to drive, with plenty of power and striking good looks, these classics enjoy a cult-like following and provide one of the best ownership experiences on the planet. That unique combination of approachability and appeal has significantly contributed to the brand's continued rise in popularity. And restorations like this well-done COPO tribute, with its powerful big block and rugged, 5-speed drivetrain, are always hot sellers. Are you one of the many enthusiasts tirelessly searching for a captivating Chevy pony car? Don't miss your chance to claim this awesome Camaro resto-mod!

Fully sorted and ready for years of endless cruising, this silky coupe benefitted from a 2009 rotisserie restoration. The restoration began by stripping the car all the way to bare metal, welding up new floor and trunk pans and bolting in fresh inner fenders. Once that metal was massaged to better-than-new condition, it was prepped for a brilliant coat of DuPont Hugger Orange base. When that dynamic pigment dried, its future was sealed by a generous layer of glossy clear. And today, this top notch Camaro rolls as a captivating homage to everything that was great about '60s automotive excess.

With balanced proportions and modernist detailing, the first generation Camaro is an inherently good-looking design. At the front of this F1, a familiar gray grille hangs a bold blue bowtie between bright halogen headlights, a fresh chrome bumper, crystal clear parking lamps and a stylish D80 chin spoiler. At the sides of that grille, sculpted fenders and standard rocker trim combine with a correct mirror, traditional door handles and ornate “Camaro” scripts to add just the right amount of detail to the car's glowing profile. At the top of those fenders, a ZL2 cowl induction hood bridges the gap between a familiar “Camaro BY CHEVROLET” header and like-new glass that's traced in straight stainless trim. And opposite that hood, chrome-trimmed taillights and a second blue bowtie ride between a D80 decklid, a second chrome bumper and bare stainless exhaust tips.

Peer between the car's Satin Black fenders and you'll find a 427 cubic inch GM Performance Parts ZZ427 crate engine that twists stout 10.1 to 1 compression into a solid 480 horsepower. As it sits, this Camaro provides a conventional answer to the equation time = distance/speed. Any good gearhead knows the best way to decrease time is to increase speed; and that's exactly what this legendary mill does! Oxygen and dinosaurs enter the combustion chambers through a “TURBO-JET” branded air cleaner, stainless fluid lines and a reliable Holley carburetor. Below that carburetor, an aluminum intake feeds 110cc oval-port aluminum heads, which wear attractive Proform valve covers. Below those valve covers, aluminum roller rockers feed forged aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, a forged steel crank and a hydraulic roller cam. At the back of that cam, a familiar HEI distributor shoots spark through eight GM Performance Parts plug wires. Below those wires, cast iron exhaust manifolds maintain performance while preserving the car's signature '60s sound. And in front of those manifolds, a beefy, 4-core radiator flows water through GM branded hoses and era-correct tower clamps. Aesthetically, this road ready Chevy's smooth engine bay has been detailed to a very high level. All the right extraneous bits, like decals, a polished oil cap and a reproduction Delco battery, are present and accounted for. And if you think this description sounds good, just wait 'til you hear the engine roar!

Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find solid, Hugger Orange floorpans that provide a fitting backdrop for fresh, first rate hardware. Behind the buff big block, a tough McLeod clutch kicks a modern Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That 5-speed twists power to a familiar GM 10-bolt, which spins a posi-traction differential around stout, 3.73 gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a completely rebuilt suspension employs old school manual steering. At the corners of that suspension, power front disc and rear drum brakes provide cool and confident stops. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned manifolds into a chambered Gardner exhaust system. Power flows to the pavement through painted steel wheels, which spin G70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sports around satin center caps. And, in addition to fresh shocks and a snazzy transmission brace, the car features a full array of stainless finishing components.

Inside this cool F1 you'll find a Deluxe Black Houndstooth interior that's one of the most stylish cockpits ever created. The completely rebuilt front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature deluxe headrests, feel as firm as the day they left the showroom. In front of those seats, a pliable, crack-free dash frames rebuilt AC telemetry beside a prerequisite radio delete. Below that dash, a traditional black console anchors a chrome Hurst shifter behind correct 4-pack accessory gauges. Below that console, like-new carpet centers heavy duty floor mats on chrome-lined foot pedals. At the sides of that carpet, deluxe door panels hang small pulls above new chrome handles and pristine stainless trim. In front of the driver, a handsome Rally wheel spins a thin wood rim around an appropriate red, white and blue horn button. And behind the passengers, a new mat, new jack and full-size spare inhabit a fully restored trunk.

The sale of this storied stoplight brawler includes restoration photos, restoration receipts and a vintage Owner's Manual.

47 years ago, Chevrolet's Camaro set the precedent for attainable performance cars. Today, it remains one of the hottest brands on the market. This fully sorted coupe is a high quality cruiser that mixes a potent big block with a reliable drivetrain and well-executed restoration. It's the perfect toy for any red-blooded car guy. And, since owning a classic car is one of the coolest hobbies on the planet, it's the perfect way to celebrate your success!
