For 111 years Buick has provided substantial, unpretentious luxury to everyone from Wall Street bankers to professional athletes. You might say the storied brand has done it all. It's the foundation for today's General Motors Company. It's the foundation for America's growth in the world's largest automotive market. And in the '30s, when Detroit was at the top of its luxury game, fine automobiles like this stylish Series 40 gave solid credibility to the line “Best Buy's Buick”. Recently restored into a road-ready resto-mod, this fully sorted cruiser is certainly some of the coolest metal to ever roll down an assembly line. Thanks to its remarkable combination of smooth power and first class style, it sits at the pinnacle of pre-war design. And, if you're a cultured enthusiast who's looking for a unique and clean classic, it's the old school road warrior you've been patiently waiting for!

The beneficiary of a professional, frame-off restoration that was completed in late 2012, this stately sedan is one of the coolest tri-shields we've ever seen! On a quest for vintage metal that could be transformed into a comfortable boulevard cruiser, the car's owner found his project sitting next to an airplane hangar in Advance, North Carolina. When a deal was struck, Winston Salem's The Paint Shop stripped the Buick's curvaceous body all the way to bare metal. After some small rust repairs, that body's panels were assembled into a straight and precise profile that displayed Honda Basque Red Pearl two-stage. Trim was sent to Advanced Plating in Nashville, Tennessee for a new, high quality luster. And today, this all-steel 40's prestigious, blemish-free appearance is a lust worthy representation of America's most glorious era of motoring.

Highly regarded competitors to some of the world's finest automobiles, '30s Buicks combined proven bodies with Detroit's most innovative and powerful engines to create an unmatched sense of style and grandeur. At the front of this classic's swank 'torpedo' profile, a familiar chrome grille hangs small emblems between chrome-trimmed headlights, streamlined parking lamps and a detailed, wraparound bumper. Above that grille, a 4-piece, folding hood places stainless-trimmed heat extractors amid a streamlined gun sight and long, stainless flanks. At the back of that hood, a clean greenhouse rides behind variable wipers, 1-piece door glass and correct chrome mirrors. At the sides of that greenhouse, a tall fuselage anchors rapier-style door handles between classy running boards, sleek trim spears and a cool “BODY by FISHER” badge. And at the back of those spears, a lit tag topper floats among a second bumper, Bulux tail lights, ornate trunk hardware and a modern power antenna.

Cosmetics aside, this sedan features an impressive level of performance. Lift the car's hinged hood and you'll find a potent Vortec V8: the forerunner to virtually all the technology still featured in GM sports cars. Donated by a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, this fully-sorted mill combines razor-sharp pulls with a doublewide torque band. And what's better: all that grunt comes standard with hassle-free, 21st century reliability. At the front of the engine, a Billet Specialties TruTrac system spins a polished Powermaster alternator and Vintage Air AC compressor at the base of a polished air tube and familiar Spectre filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a factory throttle body into a factory intake, which is bolted down over completely stock internals. High octane fossils are provided by 12-volt Street and Performance wiring and GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through red AC Delco plug wires. Spent gases are whisked away by a slick pair of ceramic coated block hugger headers. And cooling comes courtesy of a beefy Walker radiator that's complete with a quick-spinning Cooling Components puller fan. Aesthetically, the glossy engine compartment combines with the Vortec's clean silver casting to provide a natural contrast that oozes performance appeal. Niceties such as a chrome brake booster, braided accents and a factory dust cover add just the right amount of flash and detail to make people stop and take notice. And the net result is a buttery smooth, muscle-bound V8 that, through its distinctive rumble, foretells the car's true hot rod nature.

Like its drivetrain, this Buick's fully restored chassis was completed by Little Joe's Street Rod Shop in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. Providing the car's smooth ride is an independent front and 4-bar rear suspension that's augmented by power rack-and-pinion steering and Ridetech RidePRO compression. At the center of that suspension, a 4L60E 4-speed automatic, donated by a 2004 Pontiac GTO, sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end. At the edges of that drivetrain, true-dual exhaust makes good use of deep turbo mufflers. Outside that exhaust, 4-wheel disc brakes initiate quick, drama-free stops. Outside those brakes, familiar wire wheels spin 225/75R15 Hankook Optimo H724s around “BUICK” branded center caps. And, with a fully sorted undercarriage that's ready to hit the road, this big cruiser would be right at home chauffeuring the family to their favorite dinner spot.

An excellent mix of new world style and old world luxury, this 40's ultraleather interior is the perfect place to parade down Main Street. The car's front bucket and rear bench seats are stuffed with fresh padding, covered in wrinkle-free skins and trimmed with modern seatbelts. In front of those seats, a wood-themed dash hangs digitized Classic Instruments telemetry over remote-controlled Custom Autosound acoustics and Vintage Air climate control. Below that dash, a wood console, which features cup holders, courtesy lamps and a 12-volt accessory plug, rides between a small parking brake and clean shifter. At the base of that console, fresh, high quality carpet is anchored by slick, Fisher-branded sill plates and protected by big, color-keyed floor mats. Opposite that carpet, a mouse fur headliner rides tight behind a small, billet mirror. At the sides of that headliner, simple door panels prop traditional handles between discreet power windows, wood-themed frames and fresh Sony speakers. In front of the driver, a “BUICK" branded, banjo-style steering wheel spins a color-keyed rim around a tilting column and modern cruise control. And behind the passengers, a wood-trimmed trunk features compartmentalized storage for all the car's necessities.

The sale of this classy sedan includes restoration photos, restoration receipts and a stack of component manuals.

Combining a high quality restoration with modern power, this incredible Buick is one of the best resto-mods your money can buy! Add in the car's excellent detailing and impressive road prowess, and it's virtually guaranteed to be the go-to choice for a night on the town. Don't miss this chance to own one of the coolest classics on the planet!
