One of the most over-used terms in the automotive industry is ‘slightly used’; especially when applied to a five year old car. But with only 39,413 original miles on its odometer, this pristine 2007 BMW 650i Sport defines the term ‘slightly used’ in every way. Logging roughly 7,500 miles of road time annually, this slick convertible’s mileage equates to roughly HALF what the average new vehicle drives each year. And when you take a good look at our pictures and see the car’s excellent condition, you’ll be surprised it’s seen much road time at all! Are you looking for a sunny day toy that combines top notch luxury with world class performance? This unbeatable BMW drop top is the perfect solution for anyone who wants a fantastic modern luxury car without the sticker shock or depreciation of a showroom fresh model!

The cool thing about this pristine 2007 650i Sport is the fact that it provides the very best of BMW’s world-renowned performance characteristics. The fantastic thing about this pristine 2007 650i Sport is the fact that you get all that dynamic driving ability in a competent and stylish convertible! Covered in a great looking coat of original Arctic Silver Metallic paint that has been babied and protected since it was new, this awesome BMW wears what some enthusiasts believe is the best looking sheetmetal to come out of BMW in the last 20 years. The folks in Munich knew that a more dramatic appearance would be needed when they transitioned from the luxury sedan market to the luxury coupe and convertible market; and according, this generation of 6-series was equipped with a host of visual upgrades that, while significant, flow extremely well with BMW’s already impressive design theme. Modeled after a shark, and subsequently much better looking than its 5-series sedan stable mate, the resultant E63 6-series is conservative enough to appeal to a broad range of buyers, yet edgy enough to holds its own next to pure, purpose-built machines such as the Porsche 911.

At the front of the car, a deep valence hangs standard 6-series fog lights and standard BMW parking assist below traditional chrome BMW ‘kidney grilles’, adaptive Xenon headlights and new-for-2007 LED turn signals. In front of those headlights, small built in washers provide both form and function; and behind those headlights, thermoplastic front fenders border inward and outward creases that define the cars lightweight aluminum hood. At the back of that hood, like-new factory glass is capped by a black cloth convertible top which features rear glass that both rolls down to act as a third window when the top is up, and rolls up to act as a windscreen when the top is down. And at the back of those thermoplastic front fenders, lightweight aluminum doors wear aerodynamic, body matched mirrors. Those mirrors reflect on sculpted rear fenders which hold clear LED tail lights at the sides of a plateaued trunk lid that visually relates this slick 650i Sport to its more expensive 7-series relatives. And a sculpted rear bumper, which is complete with BMW’s standard rear parking assist, integrates great looking stainless exhaust tips below stylish reverse lights and a new-for-2007 LED center high mount stop lamp.

Performance has always been BMW’s strong point, and the 4.8 liter N62 V8 under this 650i Sport’s long hood does NOT disappoint! With 367 horsepower and a stout 361 lb./ft. of torque, it’s an exceptionally slick piece which motivates this awesome top down cruiser effortlessly. And if you’re not careful, you’ll routinely find yourself going 10-20 MPH faster than how the car actually feels. Designed first and foremost as a luxury car engine which placed refinement above all-out performance, the N62 features an Alusil aluminum block, aluminum heads with four valve Valvetronic technology, and fracture-split forged and powdered connecting rods to create a torque curve that is as broad as it is flat. At part throttle, the car feels electric smooth; but when you open it up, great gushing V8 sounds seem to emulate from all around you and the car springs forward with a ferocity belying its size and weight. And with expert factory maintenance since it was new, this 650i Sport runs as well as the day it came home with its first lucky owner. Aesthetically, one close look at the engine reveals that this car has lived its short and lightly used life in the warm, dry south; and as a result, exhibits all the signs of good living you would expect to see on a car that’s half its age. There’s no dirt, dust, rust or corrosion of any kind on any of the components, and everything under the hood is clean and 100% OEM.

Naturally, a powerhouse like this 650i Sport’s N62 V8 needs a whole lot of top notch hardware to back it up! Behind the engine you’ll find a seamless 6-speed automatic transmission which provides precise shift points that are certainly up to big engine’s challenge. That slick-shifting transmission spins a limited slip differential which combines the car’s excellent 50/50 weight distribution with high tech aluminum suspension components for confident launches and quick acceleration. That composed and confident suspension is comprised of a Macpherson strut front and multi-link rear four wheel independent set up which utilizes dynamic stability control, standard rollover protection and BMW’s impressive brake drying and brake standby software to turn this already serious performer into a curve carving monster. Stops are provided by four giant discs which are clamped by large silver calipers via a standard anti-lock brake system. And the final piece of the performance puzzle, which comes courtesy of the Sport package, is a set of positively gorgeous machined aluminum 19 inch BMW “M” branded wheels that wear 255/40 front and 285/35 rear Continental Sport Contact 2 performance radials.

Inside the car it’s all about traditional ‘old world’ luxury, with black leather buckets, acres of wood trim and every electronic option BMW could think of built into their famous iDrive system. The supple leather covering the four seats shows hardly any wear at all, and the front buckets feature heat, complete power adjustment with driver memory, and manual bottom extenders. In front of those seats, a soft touch dash which holds crisp, orange lit gauges next to a centered iDrive screen, flows into soft touch door panels. And between those seats, a slick metal trimmed shifter rides next to controls for an MP3 compatible eight speaker sound system, knobs for the car’s dual zone climate control and a giant navigation button for the car’s infamous iDrive system. Keeping the driver connected to the road is a leather wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel spins a bright BMW propeller logo next to redundant thumb controls; and fresh black foot pedals which hang over like-new black floor mats that protect like-new black carpet. All the upscale appointments and convenience features you would expect from a modern luxury car are present and accounted for. And niceties such as navigation with real time traffic capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, power accessories and a full array of airbags create a safe and pleasant driving experience.

Highly civilized and extremely potent, this BMW 650i Sport is an excellent mix of European luxury and all-out German performance. Still luxurious where it matters, with serious performance upgrades underneath, it will surprise almost any car on the road without degrading ride quality or driver comfort. Reliable, streetable and poised to become your transportation of choice, this 360 horsepower BMW convertible put a new twist on the ultimate driving machine.
