Restored & Documented Shelby GT350 Fastback 351 V8 Auto SAAC Registry Listed
The 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was a high-performance variant of the Ford Mustang produced by Shelby American. It was part of the second generation of Shelby GT350 Mustangs, which were known for their powerful engines, aggressive styling, and excellent handling.
One of only 824 GT350 Fastbacks made for 1969, this exceedingly collectible example sports a rare color combination, being 1 of a purported 15 that left the factory in Candy Apple Red with a white knit vinyl upholstery including Mach 1 Hi-Back front bucket seats. Retaining the matching-numbers drivetrain, including the Ram Air 351W V8 engine and FMX 3-speed transmission making this truly a rare pony car.
According to the Marti Report on file, this GT350 is an original special-order car, allocated to Ford's Home Office Reserve Ordering District.
This GT350 was produced on January 10, 1969, and in addition to its paint and interior combination, factory-installed features and options included a 3.25 Traction-Lok differential, Sport Deck fold-down rear seat, power front disc brakes, power steering, Tilt-Away steering wheel, power ventilation and an AM radio.
The GT350 featured distinctive styling elements, including a unique front grille with integrated driving lights, a functional hood scoop, side stripes, and rear spoiler. It also had Shelby-specific badging and decals.
Handling comes by way of a performance-tuned suspension, including special springs, shocks, and sway bars, which improved its road-holding capabilities. Add to this the power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drum brakes, providing effective stopping power.
Performance was top of mind when building the GT350, which is known for its strong power, thanks to its V8 engine. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 6 seconds and had a top speed of over 120 mph.
The 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is a classic American muscle car that is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its combination of performance, unique styling, and limited production numbers has made it an iconic and valuable car in the world of classic automobiles.
