This impressive mill is an excellent example of why some people believe today is the second golden age of performance. And, dressed in an Inferno Orange-tinged shroud, it shows surprisingly well. Mechanically, there are no leaks or squeaks of any kind, and the car's engine bay appears just as clean as the day it rolled off GM Canada's assembly lines. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Take a look under this Chevy and you'll find a slick-shifting Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed that's suspended in a proven, road-ready chassis. The 6L80 is one of the highest capacity automatics ever installed in a GM passenger car, featuring either performance algorithm technology or, if you want to row through the gears yourself, paddle shifting. That tough transmission spins a standard issue limited-slip axle that's fitted with friendly 3.27 gears. That drivetrain plays well with a sophisticated, Nurburgring-tested performance suspension which benefits from Stabilitrak traction and stability control.
